Digital Independence, Syndication & Relevance

We are developing a product we call indi - a name we came up with by inverting the first syllables of the phrase Digital Independence. 

It is a powerful personal software agent that becomes your online digital alter ego.  But what is really important about it, is that nothing indi knows or learns about you is ever revealed outside of your computer.  Nothing needs to be placed on someone’s server in “the cloud”.  You have complete privacy and control.  Hence your independence. 

We do this “on the edge” meaning we use peer-to-peer technologies to allow your indi to securely communicate (syndicate information) and interact online on your behalf.  (We also use advanced encryption so it is protected on your computer too.)

It knows who is most relevant to you based on how you interact with your social graph - from your emails, your address book, your instant messaging, your micro-blogging, your social network profiles, etc.  We think it is also the first application that will use Ruby on Rails on the desktop. 

The indi Beta Program

If you were a member of our closed Beta program in 2007 we would like to thank you for the feedback.  We learned a great deal from that and have applied those lessons to a new version that will be dramatically different.
